About
Tanay has spent years studying various philosophies and the traditions of non-duality, and practising what they point to. Not as scholarship, and not as belief — but as a single, patient question turned on himself: who is this one that calls itself “I”?
A person spends a whole life gathering knowledge about the world — its people, its problems, its politics, its ends — and never once turns to ask who the knower is. But every view of the world is shaped by the one who holds it. If that one is not seen clearly, nothing seen through it is clear either.
This is why the question matters. To live well — to love without grasping, to meet the earth and its creatures with care, to act instead of merely worrying — one must first be free of the illusion at the center. Conscious living is not a set of rules added on top of a confused life. It is what remains when the confusion about oneself falls away.
Tanay lives mostly in the Himalayas. What he offers is not a method and not a doctrine, but a pointing — the way one traveller tells another what lies on the road.
You are not what you take yourself to be. That is not a belief to hold. It is something to see for yourself.
